Amazon Cloud Drive automatic photo uploads go party

Amazon has joined the likes of Google, Dropbox and Facebook by offering automatic photo uploads through Cloud Drive Photos app for Android.

The retailer's users can use the online storage locker Android app back-up photos, the moment they are taken on a smartphone or tablet.

The app provides 5GB of free storage so there is plenty of space for your prized snaps smartphone, you can upload over Wi-Fi and 3G.

The new update mimics the functionality offered by rival storage solution Dropbox, and Google+ Instant Upload and Facebook Photo Sync also upload photos to private folders on networks, making sharing easier.

Easier to keep the photos safe

Drive Cloud Photos app launched in November with the aim of making it easier to stow safely snaps online. At that time there was no automatic upload feature.

Also the auto-upload functionality, Photos Cloud Drive also now features a built-in camera interface, which means it can replace the Camera and Gallery apps on your Android phone if you're so inclined.

There is still no sign of the app for iOS devices, although they can access the main Cloud Drive apps.
