Bill Gates To Keynote SXSWedu

Bill Gates To Keynote SXSWedu

While most of the tech industry’s geeks are gathered this week at CES, many are already looking forward to the next big conference: the SXSW Conferences & Festivals, held in March in Austin, TX. While most SXSW attendees are most familiar with the Interactive Conference part of the festival, the SXSWedu Conference & Festival is focused on education and technology, and just announced Bill Gates will deliver the closing keynote on Thursday, March 7.
As co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gates will address the foundation’s U.S. education work, which focuses primarily on ensuring all students are prepared for success in college and career.
The Gates Foundation’s primary mission is guided by the belief that every life has equal value, and the Foundation works to help all people lead healthy, productive lives. As part of these efforts, the foundation has provided grants for schools-within-schools initiatives, as well as teacher effectiveness research and integration of technology in schools.
Now in its third year, and held just before the other SXSW events, the SXSWedu Conference & Festival runs from March 4 to 7.
